Hey! So Glad You're Here.
Hi, I'm Jack. I'm a Biological Sciences graduate and am now completing a summer research scholarship, before progressing to an MRes. This is a space where I will be documenting the progress of my summer research project. I'm hoping to do this in an easy to digest manner in order to communicate science to people outside of the field. I feel that this is an often neglected part of science. My research revolves around CMTX, whereby mutations in the GJB1 gene encoding Connexin 32 resulting in a form of muscular dystrophy for which there is no current cure. I feel as if documenting my work on Connexin 32, in view to learning more about CMTX, can only act to bring further interest and resources to the study of Connexins and CMTX. This blog will also act as a place for me to explore my interest in general science with a focus on neurobiology.
